Citizen Jane Film Festival Oct 15th
was created to spotlight and celebrate films made by women. In 2009, women comprised only 16% of all directors, producers, writers, cinematographers, and editors working on the top 250 domestic grossing films. This means that if you, like most of us, get most of your exposure to film by going to the multiplex, you are missing out on an incredibly rich trove of amazing films. These are the films you will get to see at Citizen Jane.

The Citizen Jane Film Festival grew out of a collaboration with Stephens College, a 175-year old women’s college (the second oldest in the nation) with a growing film and media program. Since 2004, Stephens College has invited female filmmakers, producers, and writers from all over the country to present their films to the Stephens College and Columbia communities as part of the Citizen Jane Film Series. Growing out of the success of the film series, the Citizen Jane Film Festival first premiered in October 2008.

Hermann Oktoberfest-October 16th
Join us as we tour the different wineries each weekend in October. Enjoy the great fall color, oom-pah band and brats on the grill. This is the perfect time for great wines, traditional German dancing, bratwurst, beer and Maypole dancing. Octoberfest is held the first four weekends in October, is focused on celebrating the region’s German heritage. Enjoy Missouri wines with friends and the great fall colors.

Indoor Climbing Wall
Interested in rock climbing? Join us as we climb different routes on an indoor 45 foot wall in Jefferson City. The cost is $15 for a two hours of climbing or $20 to climb and become Belay certified. This is an exciting experience and a great way to push yourself physically and mentally. Grab and challenge your friends to make this more fun. No date set, depends on number of people interested.
